Place just one order and get fresh Challah weekly on Friday sent home in your child’s tote bag. It’s convenient for grown ups and Gan children love welcoming Shabbat.
Tzedakah Opportunities in conjunction with the Adas Chesed Committee
Once each month, families have an opportunity to work with the Adas community at large to perform acts of lovingkindness.
Staff Meeting Lunches and Welcome Back Breakfast (Monthly)
The GPA provides the staff with lunches for their monthly meetings. We also offer our staff a Welcome Back breakfast to kick off the school year.
Tea and Tissues (September 5-8 and 11-15, 2017 and January 2, 4, 9, 2018)
During the beginning of school, veteran Gan parents will be available in the Tea and Tissues room for soothing conversation and support as you send your new students to school.
Snack in the Shack (October 9)
This is a highly-anticipated event celebrating Sukkot. We gather with our children in the sukkah (decorated in part by them), and enjoy an activity, story, and snack.
Picture Art (November 1-2)
A professional photographer takes individual pictures of our children at the Gan. He always captures magical images that make great holiday gifts (most popular are key chains, magnets, and pencil holders). We even find graduates still return to get their picture art pictures! This program also helps support the Gan.
Havdallah Dinner (date TBD)
Gan families gather on a Saturday evening at the synagogue to enjoy a brief Havdallah service, buffet dinner, and Israeli dancing. It’s a beautiful evening, rich with warmth and tradition.
Concerts (1/7, 2/4)
This acts as a mood-lifter on a cold, wintry Sunday morning. The age-appropriate performers are always a hit with the Gan children.
Gan Gala (date TBD)
This adult-only evening provides an opportunity to schmooze with other Gan parents. There is a different theme every year. Look for more information in Ma Hadash.
Tzingo (February 11)
A combination of Tzedakah and Bingo! This event teaches our children about Tzedakah. We start with a child-friendly picture bingo game, and then make cards, and bring a new toy which is donated to Martha’s Table. The kids also get an opportunity to make, bake, and eat hamantashen after a pizza meal. We donate contributions to organizations that help sick children.
Lag B’Omer Picnic (TBD)
This is a chance to celebrate and learn about Lag B’Omer. This Israeli tradition is great fun. We play in the park, sing songs, make crafts, and have snacks.
Staff Appreciation Event (May 11)
Each year, our wonderful Gan staff is honored at a special event. It’s enjoyed by both teachers and parents. For our teachers, it is very special and meaningful to the parents from their class attend, and it’s also a wonderful way to reflect on your child’s year at the Gan. We will also be providing the teachers with a little something each day for the week leading up to the event.
Truck Day (May 14)
This is a highlight for many of our children. The parking lot is closed and filled with large trucks, including a dump truck, delivery truck, fire truck, and mail truck. Held during school, children go with their classes to explore the trucks.
Siyyum (Graduation) (June 3)
Gan families with children “graduation” or leaving the Gan gather for a meaningful program with the graduates. It’s a beautiful event, rich with warmth and tradition. The ceremony is followed by a family-friendly ice cream sundae party.
Summer Picnic (TBD)
Every summer, the GPA hosts a picnic for all Gan families. It’s a great way before school starts for families to get to connect and reconnect.
Teacher Resource Room/Chesed Fund (Ongoing throughout the year)
To show appreciation to our teachers, we provide them with coffee in the teacher’s lounge, and buy them birthday gifts (Amazon gift cards).
