Sheri Brown - Sheri has worked in early childhood education for more than 25 years as a teacher and administrator. She started her own NAEYC-accredited preschool; worked in Jewish, private and public schools; and most recently was early childhood director of the Rosie Uran Jewish Education Center at Congregation Sha’are Shalom in Leesburg, VA. Sheri earned a BA from St. John’s College in Annapolis has done graduate work at the University of Virginia, and has earned a National Director’s Credential from the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership. Sheri brings experience, warmth, and dedication to our school and congregation. She works closely with teachers and parents to continue the excellence and unique nature of our Gan community.
Stephanie Slater – Stephanie Slater has worked in the area of Early Childhood Special Education for 25 years. She has a Master’s Degree in Social Work and has done some post-graduate work in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy with Children and Adolescents. Stephanie completed a Graduate Certificate Program in Early Intervention at Georgetown University – School of Continuing Education in 2014. She has worked in the DC area community preschools for 12 years and is currently our full time Early Childhood Developmental Support Coordinator. Stephanie is also a certified children’s yoga teacher and founded Paper Crane Yoga in 2012. She lives in Bethesda with her husband and two daughters, ages 16 & 12. Stephanie is committed to advocating a preschool environment where all children can develop and thrive.
